Instrumentation
is the heart of our Field Investigation protocols. Without it, our case
interviews, field experiences, and historical research is thought
provoking and intriguing but virtually unusable in legitimate,
scientific studies of the paranormal.
Without documentation through our field
equipment, we are only producing subjective observations based on
individual perceptions and lacking qualitative or quantitative
scientific verification.
E.C.H.O. investigators use high-quality
equipment to produce objective observations based on a set of facts we
gather through the collection of exact and corroborating data. Data is
evidence. It is the external, unbiased, and reproducible measurement of
an anomalous event.
Our equipment is the tool by which we garner,
through scientific method, valid proof of previously unexplained
phenomena normally beyond our perception. In this way, paranormal investigators help to
separate myth and folklore about spirits or life after death from the
truth acquired with proper investigative protocols.
This is not to say that we don't value our
personal experiences, feelings, and physical reactions during an
investigation.
We use both subjective and objective
observations to complete a comprehensive Field Investigation report.
We use a variety of instruments to perform a Field Investigation. These
include:
35mm
cameras
Digital cameras
Polaroid camera
IR video recorders
IR Monocular scope
IR conversion digital camera (SLR)
3D digital cameras
Night vision IR viewer
Analog and digital tape recorders
Digital thermometers
Electromagnetic Field meters
Anemometer
Hygrometer
Compass
Dowsing rods
Metal detector
